Hello Friends!
We are excited to announce plans to rejuvenate and reinvigorate our oldest local bluegrass festival, the Maury River Fiddlers’ Convention, which is held every year in June at lovely Glen Maury Park. This year, 2024, will be the 30th annual festival, and we need all the friendly community support we can get in order to bring it back to being the amazing musical event it has been in years past. We have some big ideas for making it better than ever that we can’t wait to share!
We are relying on you to help us improve the Convention and make it run smoothly. While we are grateful for the support from the City of Buena Vista and the Park itself, in order to really make this a successful and enjoyable festival for musicians, families and local citizens, we are reaching out for additional donations and sponsorships to move us forward. Please consider contributing to this special even, which is vital to the continuation and preservation of traditional bluegrass and old-time music in our little mountain community.
Specifically, we need funds to achieve the following goals:
*Creating more activities for kids to join in the fun!
*Offering better prize money to attract quality musicians from all around the Commonwealth and beyond
*Expanding publicity for the event
*Adding facilities for larger crowd size as needed (i.e. porta johns, etc)
*Miscellaneous expenses
While we are not officially a non-profit organization (we are just a group of volunteers on a mission!), businesses can consider a donation as part of their advertising budget. Sponsors will be recognized publicly at the event, get a shout-out on social media, noted and thanked on our website as well as in the local newspapers, plus there will be a sponsorship banner posted prominently at the festival stage area. For individual donors, there will be benefits such as free camping or free admission tickets for the weekend, as well as other potential rewards once we get more of a sense of our budget as we move closer.
*For $200-$500, your name will be announced onstage and listed on our thank-you page in the newspaper, and you will receive two free festival tickets for the weekend!
*For $500-$1000, your name will appear on our sponsorship banner, announced onstage, as well as in the newspaper following the event, plus you will receive four free weekend tickets to the festival!
*For $1000 and above, your name will be printed prominently on the banner, announced onstage, as well as being recognized in the newspaper following the event, plus you will receive four free tickets AND free camping for the weekend.

We are dedicated to transparency with our financials, and everything will be handled through a professional bookkeeper to make sure your money is well-spent.
